The Visual Appeal
When you load up the game you will be presented with a graphically superior screen, and this is mostly green in colour. You’ll see that the game’s logo is shown along the top while the included progressive jackpot can also be seen at the top right hand side of the screen. There are eight different horses included in each race and their numbers can be seen down the right hand side of the screen next to the word ‘FINISH’. Of course, the biggest part of the screen is utilised for the actual race to take part on and you’ll actually be able to see the horses and their jockeys speeding down the track. However, even before you reach the actual horse race you will need to go through the primary screen of placing your bets.
This exists in the form of a standard bet card, and as mentioned there are eight different horses that you can place wagers on. You can looks at every horse and for its power, velocity and endurance, plus how it performed in previous races. Four different tabs exist on the starting screen, and these are categorised as ‘BET’, ‘BET SLIP’, ‘RACE FORM’ and ‘HISTORY’. You can place multiple bets before each different race and these types of bets are, for example, Win, Place and Show, which apply to a single horse. Or there’s Exacta and Quinella which apply to two horses.
